With over 35 years involvement in the taxidermy industry, South Pacific Taxidermy has grown to become the largest commercial facility in Australia.
Situated in spacious premises in Thomastown Victoria, South Pacific Taxidermy has proven itself as the number one choice when it comes to taxidermy.
South Pacific Taxidermy began its journey in the late 1970s as Wild World Taxidermy. A 2m x 3m garden shed served as my first work shop in my parents back yard of suburban Greensborough Melbourne and was a popular visiting point for family and friends .
There was not even room for a chair, the freezer lid doubled as a work bench top, and game capes would be salt dried on the concrete floor where i stood. Hides would be tanned in plastic garbage bins.
An assortment of tools hung on the internal wall, there was a fleshing beam and it was not uncommon for the curious to find an assortment of birds and heads to the size of moose within.
Our business has undergone a number of name changes over the decades. From its beginnings as Wild World Taxidermy in the late 70 s, it evolved to Gary Pegg Taxidermy in the 80s, then finally to South Pacific Taxidermy a name that is now known around the world and one that reflects the combined talent of a team of experience people.
At South Pacific Taxidermy we pride ourselves on quality taxidermy.
We began our commercial ventures in the 80s working on international big game trophies, at a time when very few people would tackle the complexities of international game. We have mounted more international wildlife species than any other person in the South Pacific, and are recognized leaders in the industry when it comes to safari taxidermy.
